If you want to study chemistry in English, this master program is for you !

The Master in Chemistry program (2-year program, 4 semesters) provides both fundamental and applied background in the main fields of chemistry: Bioorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Polymer Chemistry.

It benefits from the strong research environment in these areas in Grenoble, see the list of Research Institutes (in French) on our Departmental Website (in French) and the vast economical and industrial tissue of the Rhône-Alpes region (see the European Chemical Regions Network).

Within this program, general techniques and approaches that are essential to the development of innovative research and development are studied during the first semester. The second semester gives you the opportunity to be trained in one of the Grenoble, national or international research teams or in a company for two months. The third semester follows up on specialized education, while the fourth semester consists in a six-months traineeship.

The Master in Chemistry is entirely taught in English during all semesters. As such, it welcomes students from very diverse origins :
  • Students from UGA and French universities with a bachelor degree (licence) or equivalent
  • Students from foreign universities with a B2 English level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and at least 3 years of academic background in science
  • Exchange students from our partner universities within or outside Europe.
This program fully benefits, for incoming and outgoing students, from the services offered by the International Affairs Office in the Department of Chemistry and Biology, in relation with the International Affairs Office of Université Grenoble Alpes.
